Happy Waitangi day everyone!
That probably means little to most of you, but on this day in 1840, the Treaty of Waitangi was signed (which is New Zealand's 'founding document').
Representatives of the British Crown and Maori chiefs signed the document, recognising Maori ownership of their land, and gave the Maori the rights of British subjects (however there is a lot of controversy surrounding what was actually in the treaty, due to there being two versions of it; The English version, and the Maori version).

I hope you enjoyed the (very brief) history lesson!

Tomorrow begins timetabled classes at school ╯︵╰, I've quite enjoyed the luxury of no homework!

OH DEAR LOTS OF TOPKNOTS ✖╭╮✖ I didn't even notice until now...

The weather has been rather horrible here recently. When it is not unbearably hot, it is raining (and you can guarantee that the next day will be disgustingly humid). Because of that, I've not been able to wear tights at all! ;_ゝ; I've being wearing trousers and shorts quite a lot.
Speaking of which; yesterday I went to an ethnic clothing store that sold trousers almost identical to these ones from Wonder Rocket:

The only problem is that they were almost 5 sizes too big! (and it was the smallest size of those trousers that they stocked!) It was a bit disappointing...  Thankfully, they seem relatively simple to make- maybe one day I will get around to all the clothes that I plan to make! Haha

Yesterday I found this shirt for $5 at a chain store. It's intended to be used as a pyjama shirt, but to me it just seems like a normal (albeit, a bit baggy) t-shirt. I couldn't resist how adorable and simple it was.
However, I spruced it up a little by sewing a fabric ribbon over the cheesy clipart-esque bow.

I also got a duckling version for the same price, but I've yet to sew a ribbon on. ◠‿◠

Another thing I've purchased recently include this Latvian ABC and grammar book from the late 1940's. The illustrations in it are wonderful!

My family and I were intending to go on a picnic this weekend, but the weather did not agree with our plans! So this entry was not exciting as I was hoping it to be! ∩︵∩

Instead I've been watching lots of ads featuring Aoi Miyazaki! She's super adorable!
Some of you may have seen the earth music & ecology ads that feature her.

I hope you guys will enjoy watching her videos, and have had a good weekend!

See you again soon! ・゚,,。・:*❀・゚

Yes! I kind of have a little collection of old picture books- I feel a bit embarrassed having them around my room at my age though haha
